Clubs are now able to affiliate through the Whole Game System. Clubs will need to purchase Personal Accident and Legal Liability insurance before affiliation can be completed.

It is mandatory for all Adult and Youth teams to have Personal Accident insurance in place. Public Liability insurance is also mandatory and all clubs should carry a limit of indemnity of no less than £10,000,000 any one occurrence.

Bluefin Sport can provide clubs, teams, leagues and match officials with robust and competitive insurance products, specifically tailored to the needs of grassroots football.
Bluefin Sport is The FA’s appointed broker to deliver the National Game Insurance Scheme (NGIS) and also our appointed broker. We ask you to consider your purchase of insurance cover through the NGIS.

Personal Accident

Personal Accident insurance is available for adult and youth teams and protects players, committee members, managers, trainers and assistant referees/officials in the event of an accident arising from football activities.
Benefits include:

  • Accidental death
  • Life cover
  • Permanent total disablement
  • Loss of sight, limbs, speech, hearing
  • Hospitalisation
  • Dental expenses
  • Weekly benefits for time off work
  • Broken bone benefits

Personal accident insurance is mandatory for all football clubs and the “Basic” level of cover is the minimum level of cover required by the Gloucestershire Football Association. We would recommend that you look at the range of benefits on offer as you may wish to upgrade your teams cover.

Personal accident insurance is no longer a mandatory requirement for youth teams to have in place in order to achieve affiliation.  We still recommend that you consider taking out cover for your young players.

Bluefin Sport offer a monthly installment facility will help you to spread the cost of your personal accident insurance for premiums of £74 or more.

  • Automatic notification to the County FA confirming cover has been purchased
  • Pay your premium on-line by debit or credit card or;
  • Pay by 5 monthly instalments if your premium is £74 or more (see website for details of charges)

Included within the policy documents pack is a poster which can be displayed at your clubs premises so players are aware of the cover in place.

When you affiliate through Whole Game System, you will need to provide evidence of personal accident insurance for your teams. You will be prompted to upload your clubs personal accident policy documents through Whole Game System, which you can do from your computer as you will have saved the policy documents in PDF format when you purchased your insurance. Please note that checks will be made to ensure that you have purchased the correct cover and that cover is in force for the whole of Season 2017/18.
