Youth clubs are reminded to complete the Teams List fully so that every team operating within the club is recorded. e.g. U10 blues, reds, yellows etc.
The FA requires every Youth League and Club to appoint a qualified Welfare Officer. Each Welfare Officer is required to have completed an FA Criminal Record Check (CRC) through the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) and have attended The FA's Safeguarding Children Course and Welfare Officer Workshop.
Since September 2015, all youth team (Under 18 and younger) managers and coaches are also required to have an in-date, FA accepted, CRC (within 3 years of issue date) at the time of affiliation.
These requirements are now mandatory and failure to meet these will result in affiliation not being accepted. Further details can be found by clicking HERE.
New Clubs should download the appropriate blank affiliation form and Form A from "Documents" and when completed return it to the GFA Office. Once received clubs will have access to FA WGS. Please note that new clubs will need to contact adult and youth leagues in the county directly for respective membership and affiliation. Gloucestershire FA reserves the right to reject a club's name if it already exists or is liable to cause offence.
Please remember that separate affiliation forms are required for:-
Adult Saturday Clubs
Adult Sunday Clubs
The objective of the Benevolent Fund is to assist players of Clubs affiliated to the Gloucestershire Football Association and in membership of the Fund, and players of Representative League and County Teams, who may be injured whilst playing football in a recognised match. It also assists affiliated Referees who sustain injuries whilst officiating at sanctioned football matches. Donations are optional and can be paid as part of the costs of affiliation.
To find out more information of how to access the benevolent fund please contact Gloucestershire FA.
County Cup Entry
In order to avoid disappointment, it is recommended that club secretaries, particularly those responsible for youth clubs, check with coaches and managers to ensure that teams are entered into the county cups correctly. We cannot accept any late entries after the draws for the 1st Round of the different competitions have been made, usually at the start of August.
Public Liability Insurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance
Legal Liability (including a minimum £10million Public Liability) Insurance is a compulsory requirement for affiliating clubs. Additionally, each team within adult clubs must have Group Personal Accident Insurance cover in line with FA/GFA requirements.
Gloucestershire FA continues to be a part of The National Game Insurance Scheme provided by Bluefin Sport, a facility designed to meet insurance needs of grassroots football teams. Brochures providing the details of these insurance schemes are available to download below.
