Referee Registration for the 2024/25 season will open on 1st June 2024 and we are delighted to confirm that we will be running an early-registration incentive scheme.

Registration

Any referee who is registered by the close of play on 31st July 2024 will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win one of the following:

• Full Nike 22-26 Match kit (including CFA badge)
• 24-25 Nike Midlayer Training Top
• £25 voucher (The Ref Stop)

In addition to this, Gloucestershire FA are delighted to confirm that every referee who registers by 1st August 2024 will also receive Personal Accident Insurance FREE OF CHARGE for the 2024/25 season. Please note that you will still need to select the tick box that offers Personal Accident Insurance, but it will state FREE and no fee will be added to your registration. A copy of the brochure, detailing the benefits of the cover provided for you, can be found here.

Referees will still be able to make a donation to the GFA Benevolent fund as part of their registration if they wish to do so.

GFA Guide to referee registration
If you selected ‘Auto Renewal’ when you last registered, this will automatically register you on the 1st June with the registration fee deducted from your bank account. Please note, the Auto Renewal will not work if:

• Your Safeguarding qualification has expired.
• Your DBS is not in date or no DBS in place (for youth football).
• Issue with your bank card or funds in the account.

Long Service Awards
The Gloucestershire FA are committed to recognising and rewarding our referee workforce for their help and support. Did you know that referees can receive Long Service Awards from The FA for the following length of service:

• 25 Years
• 40 Years
• 50 Years

Referee Progression Pathway
With the registration window now open for the 2024/25 season, we are also accepting invitations to join the Referee Progression Pathway for the new season. 

Candidates who wish to join the pathway for the new season will need to register their interest online and pay a £30 refundable deposit. The deposit can then be refunded at the end of the season if you meet all of the criteria. 

The pathway is designed so that referees can climb the ladder at their own pace. More information can be found by watching this short video here.
