GFA recruiting Matchday Monitors

Monitors will report back on games as part of our efforts to improve atmospheres in youth football.

The Gloucestershire FA is committed to tackling instances of poor behaviour in local football. Join our team of Matchday Monitors to help improve the matchday experience for young players!

As a part of our strategy to make football a safe and welcoming environment for all, we are looking to recruit a team of volunteer Matchday Monitors to attend youth games around the County and report back to the GFA. Gloucestershire FA will then address any issues that arise within Clubs. As a matchday monitor, you will play a key role in improving the matchday experience for young players. Matches will sometimes be selected based on prior reports that we have received.
Key responsibilities:

- To work with the GFA Designated Safeguarding Officer to attend selected matches, sometimes at short notice.
- Record findings around behaviour of parents, coaches, and players in line with the Respect and Matchday Experience campaign, and report findings back to DSO.
- Report good behaviour and practice as well as poor. The GFA are keen to highlight good practice wherever possible.
- To remain impartial at all times.

Please note that this is a voluntary position. Expenses incurred through travel will be paid at 40p per mile.

We will aim to allocate matches close to your home address as possible. The GFA may ask monitors to attend matches without receiving reports.
