A conversation about our game

Gloucestershire FA deliver two consultation events

We spent a pair of evenings listening to our grassroots community.

On November 30th and December 4th, we sat down with stakeholders from across the County to listen to their thoughts on football in Gloucestershire.

The aim was to gather information and ideas as we look ahead to our new four-year strategy for 2024-28. We discussed a range of topics, from recruiting volunteers to growing the various player pathways. Also on the table was the support Clubs would like to receive from the Gloucestershire FA, while participants were given the floor to share the one key thing they would like to see change in the next four years.

“By hosting these events we wanted to ensure that our next strategy truly reflects the needs of our community,” said GFA Head of Strategy and Delivery, Matt Boucher. “Some of the feedback we have received has been brilliant and will prove vital moving into next season and beyond. Our volunteers have so many wonderful ideas and this gave us the chance to hear from them and learn – thank you to everyone who came along!”

The consultation events were open to all the members of our local football community, with around 60 attendees representing all areas including players, referees, coaches, and committee members. Our guests have since shared feedback confirming that they enjoyed the evening.

Feedback from the GFA consultation events

In the New Year we will look to consolidate what we have learned by sharing an online survey so that those who were unable to attend these events are also able to have their say. We then look forward to sharing the outcomes, including our new strategy, in due course during 2024.

The GFA would like to thank all those who attended these events. Your support is much appreciated.
