Anti-Bullying Week 2022

We’re proud to show our support for Anti-Bullying Week once more this year

Anti-Bullying Week 2022

The Gloucestershire FA is proud to be supporting Anti-Bullying Alliance, Anti-Bullying Week 2022.

The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘Reach Out’ and it aims to empower children to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying behaviour causes.

Below you can see the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s call to action.

Call To Action:

  • Millions of people are affected by bullying behaviour and it can leave us feeling devastated. But, if we challenge it, we can change it. So let’s all start by Reaching Out.
  • Support is vital to those affected by bullying behaviour so whether in schools, the community, at home, in the workplace or online, let’s all Reach Out and give each other the support that is needed. Reach Out if you need to talk. Reach Out to someone you see being bullied. Reach Out and be a positive role model.
  • Reflecting on our own behaviour, setting positive examples and creating kinder communities is the responsibility of everyone. Children and young people, parents and teachers, influencers and politicians, we all need to Reach Out and support one another. Together, we can be the change we want to see.
  • Speaking out takes courage, but it can change lives. So this Anti-Bullying week, join us and Reach Out to help stop bullying behaviour.

Gloucestershire FA Designated Safeguarding Officer, Chantelle Thompson had this add:"Gloucestershire FA is committed to embedding safeguarding throughout the County. We are proud to support the Anti-Bullying theme and messages.

"All children should feel able to reach out when/if they see bullying happening or are being bullied. Within football we are aiming to reinforce the message of positivity behaviour from all players, coaches/managers, match officials and importantly spectators.

"Grassroots clubs can make use of The FA’s Respect Programme to find code of conduct examples that they can use. Furthermore, the FA have a number of resources and guidance documents available to download and make use of."
