Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre 2022/23

We are delighted to announce that following a successful 2021/22 season of the Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre, we will be launching a 26-week programme for the 2022/23 season.

Our 2021/22 programme proved extremely popular, and we have received incredible feedback from those involved alongside numerous enquiries from those wanting to get involved.

What is the Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre?

The Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre programme is designed to support the development and progression of young male players in Gloucestershire who are not currently signed to a Professional Club Academy.

The programme will provide supplementary support for selected players with an additional night’s training each week to their grassroots clubs’ provision, allowing players to continue playing for their grassroots club. This pathway ensures that the players’ development, health and well-being is at the forefront of the programme.

The sessions will centre on the England DNA with a focus on the key attributes and skills of the Future England Player, whereby Coaches will work with individual players across The FA Four Corners Model: Technical/Tactical, Physical, Social and Psychological.

Who is the programme for and when/where will the sessions take place?

The Development Centre will provide opportunities for players in the age groups from U9s to U16s. All sessions will be based at Gloucestershire FA, Oaklands Park, Almondsbury, Bristol, BS32 4AG on the 3G Football Pitch and will take place on Tuesday evenings as detailed below.

• U9, U10, U11 & U12: 5.00pm – 6.00pm
  

• U13, U14, U14 &U16: 6.00pm – 7.00pm

The Development Centre will provide a 26-week training programme for selected players commencing on 6th September 2022 and running to the 28th March 2023.

How do we get involved?

Due to the success and significant interest in the programme we will be operating a 4-week trials process for the 2022/23 season. There will be 2 weeks of Open Trials, followed by 2 weeks of Invitational Trials. Through this process the Open Trials are open to all applicant players, from these first sessions selected players will be invited back to the second round of trials.

Tuesday 14th June:
U9s & U10s: 5.00pm - 6.00pm
U13s & U14s: 6.00pm - 7.00pm

Tuesday 21st June:
U11s & U12s: 5.00pm - 6.00pm
U15s & U16s: 6.00pm - 7.00pm

Invitational Trials

Tuesday 5th July:

• U9s & U10s: 5.00pm - 6.00pm

• U13s & U14s: 6.00pm - 7.00pm

Tuesday 12th July:

• U11s & U12s: 5.00pm - 6.00pm

• U15s & U16s: 6.00pm - 7.00pm

There will be a limit on the number of trial places per age group and these will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

Please note that by completing this form your child is not guaranteed a place at the Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre as there are limited places available within each age group and players will be selected via the trials process.

For players selected to join the Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre they will be invited to attend a 26-week training programme. The cost of the 26-week programme will be £180.00. Parents/guardians will have the option to pay the full £180.00 in 1 instalment or via 2 instalments of £90.00.
