Gloucestershire FA supports the FA's Play Safe Campaign

Play Safe 2022

We’re backing the Play Safe campaign

Play Safe

The Gloucestershire FA is proud to be supporting and backing Play Safe, the FA’s ongoing national campaign to focus attention on the vital importance of safeguarding in football.

Play Safe is officially supported by the NSPCC and with the full backing of the Premier League, EFL, Barclays FA Women’s Super League and the FA Women’s Championship. It is not a one-off campaign, it is here to say and includes a designated Play Safe weekend every season.

This year the campaign focuses on positively influencing parents/carers about the safeguarding role they can play.

In the lead-up to the Play Safe weekend – which will be the 16 – 18 September – we will be contacting club & league secretaries sharing assets your club/league can use to show your support.

Parents/carers can take the new ‘Safeguarding Awareness for Parents/Carers’ course, developed by England Football Learning by clicking here.

Along with our colleagues at Somerset FA and Wiltshire FA, we will be running a series of webinars in the lead-up to the Play Safe weekend. The guest speakers on the webinars include former Premiership & England international, Paul Stewart, the Two Johns (more info here) and Dr Georgie Ford (PHD – Mental Health in Education,).

We are inviting & encourage all Club Welfare Officers, parents/carers, volunteers, match officials, players, and everyone involved in grassroots football to attend the webinars.

You can find more information on the webinars on the flyer below.
