Gloucestershire FA Summer Super League 2022

The GFA Summer Super League 2022 concluded on Friday 12 August.

The pre-season tournament ran over 10 weeks, starting on the 10 June involving 16 teams split into 4 groups. The top two in each group advanced to the Championship knockout stages, while the bottom two in each group progressed to the Plate knockout stages.

After weeks of competing, on Friday [12 August] the Tournament finals took place between Jamaica Bell and Cots OB [Plate] and Rockleaze A against Shire Green Rovers [Championship].

The first Final of the evening between Jamaica Bell and Cots OB ended 0-0 with very few chances for either team. At the end of the final whistle, the game went to a penalty shoot-out that was won by Jamaica Bell.

In the showpiece Championship Final, Rockleaze A and Shire Green Rovers played out an entertaining game. The game started in fast fashion with Shire Green netting in the first few minutes and dominating the first half. However, Rockleaze kept the game to a goal deficit and found an equaliser in the second half to take the evening into another penalty shootout. Rockleaze completed the comeback by winning the shootout following two great saves from their keeper.

The winning teams received the SSL trophies and £100 restaurant voucher.

Congratulations to both Jamaica Bell and Rockleaze A, the winners of the Summer Super League 2022.
