Welcome Charlie
please welcome our new hospitality and facilities manager, charlie rollings.
Charlie joins the GFA as our brand new Hospitality and Facilities Manager. Until recently he was manager of a licensed café in Bath so brings some useful experience to the role. On his appointment, this what Charlie has to say: "I’m a massive football nerd whose random trivia knowledge far surpasses his skill and ability. Having said that, I love playing, even if I am a below average player. I played as a make-shift left back/winger as a kid and was famed for my trademark of booting the ball out for a throw-in whenever under pressure.
I’m delighted to be here at the GFA and surrounded by fellow football fans, both of their clubs and the grassroots game. It’s great to be surrounded by a team of people who genuinely care about the game, its future, and its accessibility to the masses.
My role as Hospitality and Facilities Manager is a product of years in hospitality spanning a range of different roles and responsibilities, most recently as the Manager of 8e Chelsea Road in Bath. At 8e I was able to implement different visions of our space and turn it into a versatile and profitable space even amongst COVID and the circumstances utterly life-threatening to small businesses.
I’m looking forward to being able to demonstrate similar short and long term success in building our hospitality and catering to football related events as well as private functions and gatherings.
At the same time, I will act as the port of call for all pitch enquiries for our regular users and others who would like to use to space.
In the aftermath of finishing my fully remote postgraduate degree, I’m looking forward to working closely (in real life!) with all of those involved with the GFA here at Oaklands Park."
