Personal Accident Insurance 2019-20

 

Gloucestershire FA has taken the decision to increase the minimum levels of group personal accident insurance (GPAI) required for affiliation for the 2019/20 season.

 

This applies to all teams at Step 7 and below.

 

  • The minimum cover for affiliated Adult teams has changed from Basic to Intermediate
  • The minimum cover for affiliated Youth teams has changed from Basic to Superior Gold

 

The Board has increased the minimum required cover to ensure wider protection for all players in the event of an injury whilst playing or training.  An insurance brochure will be sent within affiliation pack informing all clubs of the increased benefits received under the updated levels of cover.

 

For clubs who have previously purchased Adult Intermediate and Basic and Youth Basic and Superior Gold level of personal accident insurance, Gloucestershire FA will subsidise the cost of purchasing cover at Intermediate and/or Superior Gold, so to assist with the increased cost in 2019/20.

 

Other cover options are available via the National Game Insurance Scheme (NGIS) which provide additional and enhanced benefits.  Full details of the cover options available can be found at www.bluefinsport.co.uk/ngis

 

Adult Intermediate cover provides all the benefits of Basic plus a number of Temporary injury benefits shown in the table below.

Please note that higher minimum levels of cover are required for teams at Step 6 and above. Please refer to the insurance brochure included with the affiliation pack for details.

 

Clubs are permitted to purchase GPAI through other Insurance providers but must ensure that the GPAI matches or betters the cover provided by Bluefin Sport for the levels of football their teams play at.  Purchases through other Insurance providers will not be subsidised and the Certificate(s) of Cover must be presented to Gloucestershire FA when the Club completes affiliation for 2019/20.
