BAME and Female Learners successfully complete Level 1 coaching Award

Females and learners from BAME communities successfully complete 1st 4 Sport FA Level 1 in Coaching Football Award.

Gloucestershire FA mentor, Kurt Doyle, has successfully made it possible to run a BAME and Female only FA Level 1 in Coaching Football course. Through working closely with Kurt, the Gloucestershire FA have been able to offer more inclusive opportunities in the courses we run.

Over a 3 week period, 16 Females and learners from BAME Communities were put through their paces by FA Tutor and Course Leader at Widden Primary School, Paul Gardiner.

During the course, the learners completed seven workshops through a combination of classroom based theory and practical application sessions on the pitch, all designed to support the coaches in planning, leading and reflecting. Six online modules and two specialised workshops, 'FA Introduction to First Aid in Football' and 'FA Safeguarding Children' were included in the course and are each delivered by a specific tutor at the school. On completion of all these elements and a completed learner journal the prospective coaches had successfully achieved the FA Level 1 Coaching Football Award.
