Safeguarding

Gloucestershire FA is committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check through The FA DBS process. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according the nature of the role and the information provided.

The Role

Gloucestershire FA is recruiting additional team members to help ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Football Centre. The post-holders will be employed on a ‘casual worker’ basis with working hours offered during weekday evenings and at weekends, mainly during the football season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and operating the licensed bar and food / vending facilities
  • Hosting pre-booked events at Oaklands Park
  • First point of contact for customers during the shift
  • Taking cashless payments
  • Complying with health and safety and accident reporting procedures
  • Providing basic First Aid advice and support
  • Preparation of the football and conference facilities:
  • Checking the facilities are safe and fit for customer use
  • Ensuring site facilities are closed-down and secure at the end of each shift

What we are looking for

  • This role would suit someone educated to A Level or equivalent standard.
  • They are likely to have excellent IT skills to fully utilise FA IT systems as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates will also need to demonstrate excellent time management and prioritisation skills, together with problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work strategically with partner organisations across different sectors to plan and deliver football programmes.
  • A key requirement is good written and verbal communication skills as providing high levels of customer service to football volunteers and participants is essential.
