Mentoring & Volunteering

Mentoring and supporting referees to aid their retention and development

All referees who attend a referee course to officiate in mini soccer, 9v9 or 11 aside football are offered the opportunity to have a mentor to support them in their first five games.

The mentor fulfills a key role in being able to support young or inexperienced referees during this time to help them gain confidence to complete their referee course and go on to referee regularly.

If you are a current referee or former referee or even someone with an interest in supporting referees we would love to hear from you to become a mentor or other volunteer as a referee developer to help support and nurture our next group of referees.

Once you have confirmed your interest you can attend a referee developer workshop to learn more about the role.
