In Gloucestershire, the growth in female football has been clearly demonstrated in both schools and clubs through a number of initiatives to get more girls involved in football.
The Football Development Team work with a number of key partners to support delivery of these programmes

There is a clear structure for girl’s and women’s club football within the county:

Youth Leagues
The Gloucester County Girls League is an FA Charter Standard League, firmly established and caters for U8, U10, U12, U14 and U16 girls.

The Bristol Girls League is an FA Charter Standard League, firmly established and caters for U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15 and U16 girls.

Gloucestershire FA run a GFA Girls U18 League for females aged 15+

The Gloucestershire Women’s County Football League, which is step 5 on the National Pyramid, has 2 Divisions and feeds in to the South West Women's Football League.

The Bristol Women’s Football Casual League offers flexible football for Women aged 18+ who cannot commit to playing every week in traditional 11v11 football. The League offer central venue 7v7 football on an informal basis.

We also have clubs competing at the top end of the pyramid in the FA Women’s Premier League and the FA Women’s Super League (Bristol City WFC).
