Comets
blast off with comets!
Comets provides a safe space for disabled children aged 5 to 11 to play, be themselves and enjoy the beautiful game.
It's all about fun, friendship and learning in an inclusive environment, led by an FA-qualified coach.
You can watch the video below to hear from players and parents about what makes Comets football sessions so special!

No, Comets sessions are designed to be purely recreational. There is none of the pressure or stress that could be associated with competitive football.
The aim is simply for players to have fun, stay healthy and improve their social and motor skills!
Comets offers pan-disability football, allowing children with a broad spectrum of impairments and health conditions to play together. Comets sessions are inclusive and will be accessible for most disabled children, but if you aren't sure then please reach out to the GFA.
Older children can take part in our Ability Counts Leagues, which are also pan-disability and great fun! We have leagues for both children and adults so players of all ages can get involved!
To find out how to join a team in the Youth or Adult Ability Counts Leagues, or if you are a club looking to enter in one of our leagues, contact our Football Development Officer, Hattie Tidwell, using the details shown above.
We have several clubs around Gloucestershire that currently offer Comets sessions. The quickest way to see your nearest session is to use the Book Football locator tool. Alternatively, you can get in touch with the GFA's Disability Pathway Football Development Officer using the details above and we will be happy to help you!
Of course! The GFA employs a Disability Football Ambassador who provides support to clubs looking to start new Disability Football provisions, including Comets sessions. Please get in touch if this is something you are interested in.
When you deliver Comets, The FA will provide a start-up kit with everything needed to start your delivery, and additional funding may also be available.
