GFA partners with Sport Integrity Matters

SIM will aid with investigations into Serious Cases

The Gloucestershire FA is pleased to announce a new partnership with Sport Integrity Matters (SIM).

SIM was founded by former FA Head of Judicial Services, Mark Ives, and provides support and independent advice to a number of County FAs on a range of disciplinary and governance matters. The partnership with Gloucestershire FA will see SIM carrying out all disciplinary investigations involving Serious Cases, which will include liaising with the relevant parties to gather evidence. They will then undertake a review of the evidence and provide a recommendation to Gloucestershire FA with regards to the next steps, which may include charge(s) to be raised, no further action or alternative action.

“SIM has a proven track record through their work in other Counties,” said Chris Lucker, Football Services Manager for the GFA. “We are pleased to be able to co-operate with them to receive impartial advice and support for Serious Cases. This partnership ties in with the GFA’s aim to provide the very highest standard of disciplinary services.”

As part of the process, Gloucestershire FA retain overall responsibility over discipline within the County, which includes the final say over whether a charge is to be raised and appointing commissions to hear cases.
