The Young Lions will take on the Poles at Ashton Gate on Thursday 21 March (7.45pm KO) in the first of two home fixtures.

England will host Poland in Bristol as they continue their preparations for this summer’s UEFA European U21 Championship.

The Young Lions will take on the Poles at Ashton Gate on Thursday 21 March (7.45pm KO) in the first of two home fixtures.

Aidy Boothroyd’s side will then welcome Germany, the current EURO champions, to Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth on Tuesday 26 March (7.45pm KO).

Tickets are on sale now for both matches priced £1 for children (under 16) and adult tickets available at £10 in an early-bird offer which runs until 24 February (standard adult ticket £15).  Group booking, charter standard and concession discounts also apply.

Tickets are on sale now via TheFA.com/Tickets or by calling 0117 963 0600.

Ashton Gate last hosted England in August 2010, where the Young Lions beat Uzbekistan 2-0 with goals from Danny Rose and Martin Kelly.

England qualified for this summer’s EURO, which is hosted by Italy and San Marino, for a record seventh-consecutive time.  They will face France, Romania and Croatia in Group C.

Boothroyd said: “These matches will be really good tests for us against very tough opposition.

“The games will allow us the chance to get a gauge of two teams that we may face in the Finals, as both have qualified for the Euros.  It’s also a chance for us to look at new players, try new formations and continue the progress that we have been making.

“We’re grateful to both AFC Bournemouth, Bristol City and Ashton Gate for allowing us to play in their stadiums.  Having been in both before I know what special atmospheres they can create.  We’re looking forward to showcasing some of our best young players and two good games in front of big, supportive crowds.”

Ashton Gate managing director, Mark Kelly, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen to host the England U21s friendly against Poland U21 team.  With the four large concerts Ashton Gate will host in the summer, this fixture really puts Ashton Gate and Bristol on the map as a sporting and event destination.

“Hosting the team will be an honour and I am pleased to confirm that we will be able to give our season card holders the opportunity to purchase tickets at early bird prices.

“I look forward to welcoming the team to Bristol in March alongside a great crowd for both home and away."

England last played Poland in the group stages of the 2017 EURO, where a 3-0 win with goals from Demarai Gray, Jacob Murphy and a Lewis Baker penalty, booked their place in the semi-finals.  The Young Lions then went on to face Germany, losing on penalties to the eventual tournament champions.
