Veterans Football

Thought your playing days were over? Think again! More and more people are looking to continue playing football into their golden years. This could be to keep fit, play with friends or prove they still 'have it'.

Any individual players or teams who wish to find out further information participating in any of the below football should contact Gloucestershire FA Football Development Officer, Jack Stanbury on 01454 615 888 (option 3) or email

Opportunities for players aged 40 and over are a growing area for football. Due to work, family commitments and a whole host of other constraints, players often want a format of football that differs from the traditional 11-a-side game. This could be a small sided, a modified pitch or simply rolling substitutions.

Currently our 35+ offer comprises of the following:

Veterans League 11-a-side

The Gloucestershire FA Veterans League provides a flexible format targeted at players 40 years and older who no longer play football, or get together for an occasional friendly kickabout. The league provides 11-a-side fixtures once a month and shorter games which are only 40-minutes each way, the league also allows the use of repeat substitutions.  Click HERE to view the leagues Full-Time website.
