Welcome Chelsie

Introducing our new Football Services Officer, Chelsie Savins

Please welcome our new Football Services Officer [fso], Chelsie Savins

Chelsie Savins talks about her experience in football, the journey which has led her to the position as our FSO and what she is looking forward to in the role:

"As far back as I can remember, Football has always had and continues to have a significant role to play in my life whether that be watching, playing or coaching. It has supported me to be more disciplined, helped me handle my successes most appropriately, but also my failures and allowed me to persevere in the face of adversity. It has shaped me into the person I am today and shown me that it is more than just a game.

The game has also provided me with many opportunities to grow and develop in numerous ways. I have now been involved within the industry for the past 6-7 years and worked with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds from Grassroots to Professional  level.

I have also recently completed my degree in BA (Hons) Football Coaching & Management, of which I obtained a 2:1 classification from UCFB Wembley. Over the duration of my degree, countless opportunities arose for me to work alongside many organisations/clubs in Football, specifically The Football Association in facilitating initiatives such as; The Gameplan for Growth through the running of Wildcats sessions and a project known as Gosketch!, which was implemented into primary and secondary schools across various boroughs of London to deprived students. Further to this, I have also held a position as a Team Liaison Officer over the last three years, whereby I have worked with international football teams and referees whilst they have been in England for the purpose of competing at international tournaments.

From all of my experiences, I feel as though my  knowledge and skillset have evolved greatly over the years and I look forward to being able to broaden this, as well as my network wider in my new role as Football Services Officer and a Coach for the Girls’ Advanced Coaching Centre, at the Gloucestershire Football Association. It is an opportunity for me to best continue my development and I am very grateful to be apart of such a caring and supportive team here at the Gloucestershire FA, I am excited for the journey."
