Funding For New Football Teams

The Gloucestershire FA is delighted to announce that the Gloucestershire FA Growth Fund is now available for applications.

The Growth Fund provides grants of up to £200* to support the creation of new Football Teams affiliated to the Gloucestershire FA.

The application window is now open and is due to close on Friday 16th July**.

Applications are welcome from existing Gloucestershire FA affiliated Football Clubs and new Football Clubs who fall within the County’s boundaries and planning to set up one or more new Football Teams for the 2021/22 season.

Working in-line with FA and local targets we will look to prioritise applications for Female Teams, Disability Teams and Adult Male 11v11 teams.

Clubs must be an England Football Accredited Club (previously known as Charter Standard) or commit to achieving the Accreditation within 12 Months of being awarded funding. Clubs must also have a signed constitution (with an appropriate dissolution clause), safeguarding policy, equal opportunities policy, bank statements and income/expenditure records (for all accounts held by the organisation).

The Growth Fund provides funding to contribute towards a combination of the following essential costs associated with providing new football activity:

  • Facility hire
  • Hire of FA qualified coaches
  • Referees fees
  • DBS checks
  • Affiliation fees
  • League entry
  • First aid kits
  • Promotion and publicity
  • FA courses
  • Additional courses
  • Football kit/equipment

However, due to the limited amount of funding available a final decision on grant value will be made following the application deadline and once all applications have been assessed. All applicants will be notified of the final decision within 14 days of the closing date.

**We reserve the right to close the application window early, before the 16th July should the number of applications exceed the available funding.
