GFA Club Support Package Update

Update on GFA Club Support

Grassroots Football Update

As we all know, grassroots football remains suspended, but as Covid-19 restrictions begin to ease we have started to plan for a new football season. Of course, football can only restart when the Government and FA consider it safe to do so, but to help Clubs prepare, we have enhanced our Club Support Package to eliminate some affiliation costs and help grassroots football recover.

Club Affiliation 2020/21

We are pleased to announce that there will be no Club affiliation fee required from GFA-affiliated Clubs when online affiliation opens in June. Please note that completing online affiliation doesn’t mean your Club can play football yet, we must all follow Government guidelines and stay safe for the time being.

County Cups

County Cup entry will also be free for 2020/21. We encourage all teams to enter but we will need to assess the viability of running any Cup competitions next season once we know when grassroots football will restart.

As previously announced, we plan to complete the 2019/20 County Cup Finals for open age (adult) teams but have decided to terminate all the 2019/20 Youth County Cup competitions.

Club Insurance

Bluefin CountyCover Legal Liability Insurance purchased through us will also be free. However, we suggest that Clubs take the opportunity to consider the additional Player-to-Player cover provided by the Bluefin CountyCover Plus policy. This is available at a GFA-subsidised price of £29 (was £54) for the season. (Google - ‘Ossett Town Insurance’ to see what happened at this Club).

The National Game Insurance Scheme Personal Accident policy subsidy is unchanged at £5 per open age team and £3 per youth team.

To find out more about Glos FA Club Insurance requirements, visit the Bluefin Sport website.

Glos FA Benevolent Fund
The opportunity to donate to the GFA Benevolent Fund will also be available during the affiliation. The Fund provides limited financial support for Club members injured whilst participating in affiliated football and suffering financial hardship or loss.

It is not a substitute for Personal Accident Insurance but can help make a difference. The suggested donation remains £10 per adult team and £10 per youth club. Clubs should note that the Trustees of the Fund are only able to support claims from Clubs that have donated to the Fund as part of the affiliation process each season.

Payments

If your Club takes advantage of the CountyCover Plus Insurance policy and/or donates to the Benevolent Fund, the payment deadline for the invoice will be extended to 1st September 2020.

Online Club Update

Thank you to everyone who attended the online Club Updates we held recently. Over 120 participants representing at least 100 Clubs attended the two sessions.

In response we've received a lot of positive feedback. It is good to know that you found the sessions helpful and informative.

Below is the fact sheet and copy of the Presentation (from the last session) that we promised to produce and circulate.
