Gloucestershire FA Girls’ ACC Player set to make her England debut

Gloucestershire ACC starlet Naomi Layzell is set to represent her Country for the first time next week as she jets off to Switzerland with the Lionesses U15 squad.

The 14-year-old from Gloucester will earn her first International Cap in a European Double Header against the Swiss opposition.

Naomi started playing football aged 7 and has always played within a mixed team as well as making the odd appearance for FC Highnam Girls.

The teenager currently trains and plays for Gloucestershire FA’s Advanced Coaching Centre and plays locally for Gloucester City in the JPL and a local Club in the Cheltenham Youth League.

Naomi has attended FA National Performance Camps with the FA over the last 18 months and was recently selected to attend the U15 England Camp at the FA’s National Football Centre at St. Georges Park.

When asked about how she was feeling having found out she had been selected to represent England U15’s, Naomi said ‘I am really excited about being selected as well as feeling a little nervous and apprehensive, especially having been injured for the majority of the summer. I am most looking forward to the challenge and I will go and do my best and enjoy the experience, it is a real honour to be representing my Country’

Everyone at Gloucestershire FA would like to wish Naomi the best of luck for her game.
