In Gloucestershire, we will be working with the IOG South West Regional Pitch Advisor, Rob Donnelly to provide visits to local clubs in the county.
The idea of the programme is to give our affiliated clubs Access to expert advice at a substantial cost-saving compared to an independent agronomist report. This will then give Pitch maintenance advice and support tailored to the needs, budget, expertise and equipment available.
The Programme gives clubs Potential to access external funding for pitch development and or maintenance equipment.
The process is simple. Gloucestershire FA will coordinate the time and date of the first visit in conjunction with the club and notify the Pitch Advisor of visits and all relevant details. The Regional Pitch Advisor completes the first site visit and produces a maintenance report with a copy for the club and Gloucestershire FA.
It is then over to the club to follow the recommendations from the advisor, who will then give feedback on agreed milestones. Should the maintenance recommendations not result in an improved pitch or surface, there may be some further improvement work required on site and the club can discuss funding options with the Gloucestershire FA, Football Development Manager and The FA Regional Facilities & Investment Manager. A follow up visit 12 months from the original assessment will be arranged by the Gloucestershire FA to gauge the success of the programme.
The cost for the programme is £100 per facility which includes two visits and a report. If a club holds FA Charter Standard Club Status, then the cost will be £50 with Gloucestershire FA subsidising the rest of the cost. To request a visit click here.
