The 2016/17 Standard Code of Rules documents can be downloaded at the foot of this page.

The FA Rules and Regulations cover a number of different subjects so that we can ensure consistent delivery of the grassroots game throughout the county. The aim being to establish an efficient and fair regulatory structure for all grassroots leagues and clubs in England.

The FA issue two versions of the Standard Code of Rules; one for open age (adult) competitions and a separate version for youth competitions. These are adopted by all leagues and competitions delivering football in Gloucestershire and it is these rules that enable Gloucestershire FA to sanction the individual competitions and make sure there is a consistent approach wherever you play in Gloucestershire.

The FA note that although competitions may add to the core of the Standard Codes, any additions must be approved by the sanctioning Association and must not conflict with the core Rules or with any Rules, principles or policies of The Football Association.

In accordance with Regulation 18 of the Regulations for the Sanction and Control of Competitions, any rule, regulation or practice of any competition which is inconsistent with the Rules and Regulations of The Football Association shall be void and unenforceable, regardless of whether such competition has been sanctioned directly or indirectly by The Football Association.
