Football Workforce Awards 2008-09

As the season draws to a close, it is time to think about how football clubs and organisations can say thank you to all the volunteers who help keep the game going each week.

The Football Workforce has produced a FA Volunteer pin badge and certificate for club and league volunteers which clubs and leagues can present to individuals as one way to recognise their contribution to the game.

Clubs and Leagues can also nominate a person to the Gloucestershire FA to be considered for a County Volunteers-Football Workforce Award in recognition of their contribution to grassroots football during the 2008/09 season.  In addition, clubs can nominate a Young Volunteer (under-18 at the start of the season) for recognition and an Under-25 volunteer as part of the MacDonald’s V Programme.

As in previous seasons, one winner from each age group will be put forward to The FA for consideration for a National Award. Last season, Gloucestershire FA’s nomination of David Shapperd for his contribution to the grassroots game was successful and he received his award at a VIP event hosted by The FA at the Community Shield sponsored by MacDonald’s last August.
