Basic Referee Courses

The Gloucestershire FA are running a schedule of referees courses for season 2009/2010.  Courses are timetabled to run over mid week evenings and weekends.  The courses listed below only cover 11v11 football.  If you are unsure of what course is most likely to meet your needs please contact The Referee Development Officer for advice.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have any further referee courses being run in the 2009/2010 season. Please check this page in late June for an updated list of course for season 2010/2011.

All candidates are required to attend all the dates on the course programme and are expected to complete 6 11-a-side games within 3 months of passing the examination.

For candidates who are under the age of 16 a Safe Guarding Children DVD will need to be completed prior to the first evening.  This is sent to you prior to the course if your application is successful. Failure to complete this might result in you being removed from the course.

An examination of your knowledge of the laws of the game will be taking place on the first evening.  Pre-course material will be sent to successful candidates prior to the course for revision.

As part of your referee qualification, if you are over 18, you will be required to complete a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.

An application form, questionaire and full payment must be completed in order to apply to get onto the course.  Unfortunately, no applications will be considered if this is not completed and sent at the same time.
